Stumbled across this site by accident and what a great surprise. Dave, Mat and Howard were good friends despite being guilty of giving me the World Endurance bug in 84 and 85.

Great read ,always looked forward to getting Bike Magazine each month to read the next installment of the Team s adventures,Howards passion for bikes has stayed with me for alot of years and my tool collection is mostly down to Howards technical pages. Still got the Team Bike t-shirt though a little tight and worn now!

Well that's that sorted – Le Prix de l''Energie no less! Well researched, Ross. Two small, pathetically pedantic points: there was no third rider in the winning Roadrunner team, and their Bakker Suzuki housed a GSX1000 motor, not an 1100 (see my posting of 22nd March).
